One of Los Angeles’ most breathtaking and beloved cultural traditions is returning to Hollywood Forever.
Gather with family and friends on Saturday, October 24, 2026, as Hollywood Forever comes alive with vibrant altars, music, dance, art, food and thousands of marigolds for the 27th annual Día de los Muertos celebration. Recognized as the largest Día de los Muertos celebration in the United States and one of the largest outside of Mexico, the extraordinary event brings together thousands of Angelenos and visitors from around the world for a powerful day of remembrance, culture and community.
This year’s celebration embraces the theme “All Under One Sky / Bajo un Mismo Cielo,” a moving reflection on the experiences that connect us all: love, loss, memory, compassion and hope.
The same sun rises over each of us. The same moon watches over those we love. And the same stars that guided our ancestors continue to shine above us today. No matter where we come from or where we stand, we are all under one sky.
A Celebration Where Music Meets Tradition
Music takes center stage throughout the celebration, bringing contemporary Southern California sounds into conversation with the rich Mexican cultural roots of Día de los Muertos.
Leading the 2026 lineup is DannyLux, Mexican-American singer-songwriter whose signature alternativo-sierreño sound has helped introduce a new generation of listeners to contemporary Mexican music.
He’ll be joined by Trish Toledo, celebrated for her soulful interpretations of classic ballads and old-school soul. East Los Angeles favorites Tropa Magica, will bring their wildly infectious psychedelic cumbia-punk sound and San Diego indie band Los Shadows will lift the spirits with blends of indie rock, psychedelia and cumbia.
Keeping the celebration moving throughout the day will be DJs Que Madre, JOAQU.N and Dro Barlo.
Together, the artists create a distinctly Southern California soundtrack for a celebration rooted in ancestry while continuing to evolve with each new generation.
Where Remembrance Comes Alive
At its heart, Día de los Muertos is about something timeless: keeping the memories of those we love alive.
Rooted in traditions dating back thousands of years to the Indigenous cultures of Mesoamerica, Día de los Muertos honors the enduring connection between generations through color, music, food, storytelling and joyful communion between the living and the dead.
At Hollywood Forever, those traditions transform the historic cemetery grounds into an unforgettable living tribute.
Throughout the grounds, spectacular community-created altars and ofrendas will honor ancestors and loved ones with photographs, flowers, treasured mementos and traditional offerings. Each altar tells its own story, turning remembrance into an extraordinary display of creativity, love and devotion that will captivate your heart.
The Ceremonial Procession and Aztec performers bring ritual, dance and blessing to the celebration, while the Muerte y Tradición Stage continues the experience with live music, folklórico dance and cultural performances.
Art, Culture, Food & Family Fun
Families can head to the Children’s Plaza, where younger guests can participate in hands-on art activities inspired by Día de los Muertos traditions.
Inside Hollywood Forever’s historic Cathedral Mausoleum, the Cathedral Art Exhibition will showcase original works from invited artists, adding another powerful artistic dimension to the celebration.
Guests can also explore arts and crafts vendors, savor food from culinary vendors and admire the creativity on display during the annual altar and costume competitions.
From elaborate ofrendas and mesmerizing performances to music, art and incredible food, every corner of Hollywood Forever becomes part of an immersive celebration of life, memory and the people who came before us.
It is a day to remember. A day to celebrate. And a day to come together — all under one sky.
