Urban Legends of Southern California, at the OC Fair & Event Center delivers horror and humor for a frightfully-fun drive-thru Halloween Haunt that will make you scream! Running now from Wednesday to Sunday evenings through November 1, Urban Legends of Southern California is both immersive AND innovative—and best of all, completely safe so you can experience the thrills and chills of Halloween from the comfort of your car and all while safely social distancing.
What’s good Gab had a ghoulishly-good time this past Friday as we gathered the crew in the car to experience the event. Without giving too much of the devilish details, here are a few of the haunted highlights:
Start your engines and head over to the drive-thru where creepy carhops (waiters and waitresses) wander about and welcome you with ghastly grins—and watch out because these waiters aim to serve up terror and some giggles right to your window! And be sure to pay special attention to the big screen to learn about the urban legends that lurk about in the area including, the mysterious yet murderous Sasquatch, the terrors of Turnball Canyon, and the infamous Bloody Mary. While you’re there, things might take a terrifying turn for the worse with the weather even shifting to gloom and doom.
SASQUATCH IN THE SAN BERNARDINO MOUNTAINS
Brave the San Bernardino Mountains as your enter campgrounds where there’s a creepy creature that’s hiding in the dark. Hear the screams of the unlucky campers and see their faces of fear as they try to stay alive through the night from the notorious Sasquatch. Strapped in the car, you will feel the terror that these campers experience and you might just get a glimpse of Sasquatch lurking in the woods. Keep your headlights off and stay very quiet so that you escape the macabre misfortune that awaits these campers.
BLOODY MARY BASH
Roll your ride into this fang-tastic immersive experience filled with otherworldly clubbers that are dancing the night away without a care. This experience features a center stage and raised stages throughout, delivering a great view for all passengers to experience all the action including, the strobe lights, the fog, and the hauntingly-hypnotic dancing. But wait, don’t get too caught up in the festivities because this pernicious playground belongs to Bloody Mary, who makes an appearance and is the leader of this ghoulish gang!
It was truly terrifying to be “trapped” in the car while creepy urban legends lurked about. The fact that this innovative and immersive experience is one of the first of its kind created to save Halloween, all while social distancing, makes this an event you can’t miss! It was exciting to load up in the car with our crew to head onto this terrifying trip where you did not know what to expect. And it was especially entertaining to be a spectator that was “stuck” in the car without being able to run away or hide. Urban Legends of Southern California delivered the thrills and chills this Halloween season, giving us a moment to “escape” the new normal that the pandemic has created.
