With spring in full swing and summer just around the corner, it’s time to make plans for pool paw-ties for your pet. And there’s no better way for your canine companion to learn to swim and enjoy diving than at the Bone Adventure’s new Swim Club, a luxury swimming pool exclusively for dogs. Located at Bone Backyard, one of The Bone Adventure’s two dog care locations in Costa Mesa, the 50-foot long, 4-foot deep temperature controlled saline pool features a beach-style walk-in entrance complete with a sunbathing island and water fountains.
“Our new state-of-the-art pool was designed specifically for dogs, taking into consideration what features would be enticing and fun for the dogs while balancing safety,” says Diane Cuniff, Founder and CEO of The Bone Adventure.
The Swim Club boasts a 40-foot regulation size platform for dock diving, a competitive dog sport in which dogs jump for distance or height from a dock into a pool. The Swim Club offers a vertical bumper toy to test how high the dogs can jump. Mentally stimulating, low impact exercises, swimming and dock diving both promote mental and physical health in dogs.
“We are really excited to introduce dock diving to our community,” commented Cuniff. “It’s a great area for our dogs that are just starting out or already practicing for dock diving competitions.”
Before joining the Swim Club, dogs are required to complete an introductory 30-minute swim class for The Bone Adventure team of experts to assess their swimming capabilities. Beginning swimmers are welcome and are fitted with dog life jackets until the Swim Club’s staff determines the dogs are capable of safely swimming without the aid of a life jacket.
Dog owners are invited to watch their dogs play from the Swim Club’s splash-free bleacher seating section. Owners are also granted access to The Bone Adventure Swim Club’s password protected webcam to watch their dogs in real time from beyond the bleachers.
Private and group swim sessions are available at The Bone Adventure Swim Club. Private swim sessions start at $60 for 30 minutes for up to three dogs. Group swim sessions start at $20 for 30 minutes and have a strict supervision ratio of one dog handler for every seven dogs.
The Bone Adventure Swim Club is located at 2700 Bristol Street, Costa Mesa, CA 92626.
