Join Kiehl’s Since 1851, the New York-based leader of fine quality skin and hair care — and philanthropic beauty brand for its LifeRide motorcycle project in honor of Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month to support the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance (OCRFA).
The Kiehl’s LifeRide for OCRFA is an expansion of Kiehl’s LifeRide, a cross-country motorcycle ride inspired by Kiehl’s icon – the motorcycle – a spirit of adventure, and philanthropic heritage. Kiehl’s LifeRide for amfAR embarked on its first run in 2010 to raise funds and awareness for amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, and will run its eighth annual ride in August 2017.
“Our LifeRide project has been a way of making noise for a cause that we passionately believe in and support,” says Chris Salgardo, President, Kiehl’s USA, and motorcycle enthusiast since he was a teenager. “I feel strongly in supporting women’s causes, so extending LifeRide to OCRFA was a natural next step. Ovarian cancer is something that unfortunately touches so many, and ever since meeting Audra Moran, my respect and admiration for this organization has only grown.”
On Wednesday, Sept. 21-Thursday, Sept. 22, Kiehl’s is doing a two-day celebrity motorcycle ride around Los Angeles to benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance. The OCRFA is an incredible organization that’s working to eradicate the leading cause of death from gynecologic cancers in the United States and the fifth leading cause of cancer death among American women, so there’s no better way to support such a worthy and beautiful cause!
Over the two days, for the first LifeRide for OCRFA, riders including Chris Salgardo, President of Kiehl’s, Gilmore Girls’Scott Patterson, Gilles Marini, seen most recently in Switched at Birth, Grant Reynolds, host/producer of What Could Possibly Go Wrong on Discovery Science, and Luke Wessman, a tattoo artist you might recognize from Miami Ink and NY Ink, will ride around the LA area, stopping at 6 Kiehl’s retail stores to celebrate with the public, educate about ovarian cancer, and raise some money for Audra’s organization!
Donations will be taken at the register, and guests can meet the riders, learn from Audra, and enjoy complimentary facials, a live DJ and refreshments. Also, the first 25 customers in line at each event will receive mystery gift cards up to a $100 value.
The ride will conclude with a public celebration in Santa Monica, where Kiehl’s will donate $25K to OCRFA, in addition to the amount bolstered by community involvement — so please come out and show your support.
