COMPLEX brings its “first ever cultural World’s Fair” ComplexCon, taking place in Long Beach, CA this Saturday, November 5th and Sunday, November 6th where creators, curators and YOU converge to celebrate and shape culture. The inaugural 2-day convention will host a full lineup of music, pop-up shows, and artist installations, including entertainment icon, Snoop Dogg, who will perform his first ever Long Beach show on November 6th.
ComplexCon is the ultimate festival experience complete with concerts, panels and conversations, art, food, shopping and much more. In partnership with ReedPOP––a boutique group within Reed Exhibitions and producers of New York’s Comic-Con and fashion trade show Agenda––Complex and its host committee of experts include legendary artist Takashi Murakami, Cultural Director/Executive Chair Pharrell Williams and world-renowned electronic music producer, Skrillex.
The current music lineup for night one includes Skrillex, Kid Cudi, Travis Scott and a guest DJ set by Virgil Abloh – performing on November 5th. In addition, the daytime line up for both days will include buzzworthy performances by Little Yachty and The Sailing Team, Chief Keef (performing his first album, Finally Rich), Metro Boomin, LOLAWOLF, Spark Master Tape, MadeinTYO, Tunji Ige, DJ Sliink, THEY., Cousin Stizz, Khalid, Smino, Jubilee, Chase B, Johan, and Ta’East.
Night two, November 6th, will feature a FREE concert including a headline performance by Snoop Dogg, appearing on the main stage in his hometown of Long Beach for the first time ever. Performers for night two will also include hip hop superstar 2 Chainz and rap trio, Migos. Attendees that have purchased or are planning to purchase a Sunday Day or Weekend Expo pass will automatically be upgraded with access to the Sunday evening concert!
ComplexCon will also bring together an exclusive selection of over a hundred Pop-Up Shops and brand activations where cult favorites will be debuting collaborations, launching new products and releasing exclusive drops worthy of camping out for. Nike will immerse attendees with a massive 7,500 square foot display of their sneakers and apparel, while Japanese brand, Bathing Ape will bring an exclusive BAPE pop up shop. Other brands and retailers participating include Billionaire Boy’s Club, RSVP Gallery, PUMA, Jason Markk, UNDEFEATED, Bodega, UNION LA, BAIT, Modernica and over 100+ more.
Prolific contemporary artist Ron English—known for flipping pop cultural icons to make subversive statements on different social messages—will bring his famous #Popaganda to life at ComplexCon, showcasing his signature mash-up of high and low cultural touchstones. Contemporary Los Angeles based artist Patrick Martinez, known for his thought provoking neon paintings and installations, will produce a special site-specific installation at ComplexCon.
The First We Feast Food Zone – To supplement cultural consumption, ComplexCon will offer a mind-blowing menu of the tastiest gourmet food trucks that California has to offer, like Free Range L.A., expertly curated by First We Feast. So be sure to arrive hungry!
Plus, ComplexCon will feature more than seven, intimate keynote speeches, fireside chats, and panels from some of the sharpest minds shaping popular culture today. These sessions will feature high-profile figures like A$AP Rocky, artist and architect Daniel Arsham (of Snarkitecture), designer Jon Buscemi, producer DJ Mustard, and over a dozen other top names in the fields of music, fashion, art, film, technology, and more.
