Come to celebrate and commemorate life at the 20th annual Día de los Muertos celebration at Hollywood Forever on Saturday, November 2nd, 2019 to honor “Migraciones Sagradas” (Sacred Migrations). This year, Hollywood Forever proudly welcomes Grammy winners and Mexico City rockeros Café Tacvba as the main stage headliners.
Don’t miss out on this vibrant and traditional celebration in the home of Hollywood’s immortals.
This year’s guiding theme is the Monarch Butterfly and its winter home, the Mexican state of Michoacán. Michoacán is also one of the two cultural heartlands in Mexico where the ancient traditions of Dia de los Muertos have been celebrated the longest and most vibrantly.
Join and celebrate sacred migrations as a symbol of dreamers and immigrants whose personal journeys echo the annual migrations the butterflies make between Mexico and the U.S.!
ABOUT CAFÉ TACVBA:
Café Tacvba is widely recognized as the leading alternative rock band in Mexico and one of the most influential alternative groups from Latin America, leading a bohemian musical movement with its mix of rock, indigenous folk, electronic music and punk elements.
With a 30 year career, they continue to expand a massive audience of devoted fans across the Americas, across Europe and beyond. They have won multiple Latin Grammy Awards and a Grammy Award.
ABOUT SACRED MIGRATIONS:
This year we embrace the Monarch butterfly as a symbol of Dreamers and Immigrants whose personal journeys echo the annual migrations the butterflies make between Mexico and the U.S. The Monarch’s pending inclusion on the Endangered Species list is also an urgent call to love and protect our shared earth. As we celebrate our 20th Anniversary at Hollywood Forever, we share our gratitude for the beautiful migration of Día de los Muertos from its homeland of Michoacán to the heart of Hollywood.
